<lj:music>Dive in the Sky - Sakai Mikio (some good inspirational music for you)</lj:music>

Tooooday was an awesome birthday party for one of my friends. I got her Best Buy gift card, being the generic gift giver that I am, but a few other kids (around ten-ish) pitched together and got her Rock Band for the PS2. Lucky duck. I wish my friends actually liked me enough to do that. Than again, I guess it would help if I had an actual birthday party once in a while. Or if, you know, if my birthday weren't smack in the middle of the summer when people are off on vacation or anything. Oh, woe is I.

Anyway, there were about 20-30 people and we all sat around and played Guitar Hero and Call of Duty 4 and Halo 3 and then eventually (once it was freed from its horrible wrapping-job) Rock Band. Except that I didn't play any of those because I'm not a FPS fan (and I didn't want to get schooled by the others without ever touching the controller) and for Rock Band and Guitar Hero, I don't know any of the songs and my hand/eye coordination only extends to my ability to play the sax (and even then it isn't very good XD). I'm actually surprised at how mundane our parties are. Whatever happened to "highschool kids always get drunk and high at parties" and such. I mean, I'm sure there are a few kids at our school that do it, but the general idea of a party in our marching band (and in my other circles of friends) is the Guitar Hero, the board games, and copious amounts of food. Could the media be lying to me? Are high school kids really NOT as crazy and reckless and wasted as they make us out to be?!

*gasp*

About five or six kids went swimming, despite the fact that it was raining and a thunderstorm was on. And then I played this game of EXTREME HARDCORE TROUBLE with Gaby and these two other kids (a guy and a girl), where we all kept landing on each other and the guy kept yelling, "Peanut butter! Not again!" I mean, really. Peanut butter? XD It was good stuff.

Then I went home and realized that real life is essentially boring and devoid of all the party fun that exists on weekends. Booo.

The interview was all right. The guy was apparently also in the Harvard marching band, which made "connecting" easier. He ALSO liked Aaron Sorkin, which is awesome because we chatted about Charlie Wilson's war for a few minutes. Ha, same thing with the other interview: we both ended up liking comic books, so we talked about those for a while. Lawlz.

Anywho, he had some good stories, so even if I don't get in, it was good for all of the interesting stuff that I found out.

(But NOT good for the nerves. Stress is baddddddd.)

Ahhhhhh went from one entry asking why I sucked so much, to THIS entry right before a college interview from Harvard in 30 minutes. Actually, that doesn't really change anything because they pretty much interview everyone, but I've heard that because everyone gets an interview, they place more basis on it then simply having it as a formality.

Yeah, I don't know. It's just what I've heard.

I've prepared the school newspapers that I've gotten my artwork published in and some of my sample essays (as well as a copy of my National Achievement certificate) but argghhh I left my sax t school, and the guy said on the phone that a performance could be included in the interview. But I don't like to play alone and I didn't have any solos prepared (just an ensemble that I'm working on with my friends) when he called which was only TWO DAYS AGO and I really think they should have some sort of ONE WEEK NOTICE thing.

There's the piano but OH GOD I don't want to play the piano for anybody. I suck so bad at it. It's because I have sausage-fingers, that's why. >:(

Soooooo good luck to me, I guess. *crosses fingers and prays not to say something stupid*

<lj:music>Minna no Peace - Afromania (lawlz Gurren Lagann)</lj:music>

Dear God,

Why do I suck?

More specifically, why do some people (like me) suck more than others? If you love us all equally, why must so many of us be tormented by our permanent suckitude?

I pretty sure I'm failing calculus (though I still hold out some magical hope for a B), I still haven't turned in all of my college apps, and the #3 ranked person in our graduating class just announced that he's gotten in to one of the colleges I'm applying to. I'm NUMBER EIGHTY NINE. A rank that will most likely fall after this marking period. I have an 89.2% in AP Government and Politics. ASIDFIOSDFHIASFHASHIARGH WHY DO I SUCK.

In other news, I bought a messenger bag for six bucks that I plan to paint on, and unlike before when I randomly bought these three canvas bags (that I ended up giving away), I actually have an idea of what I'm going to paint on it. Yayyyy.

Now I have to study for midterms, which were moved to the begging of this year because the people who designed our schedules this year obviously suffer from some sort of mental deficiency. CALCULUS (sdfhioas;hfiahfweuiqlhilqw) and Goverment (slighlty less JISFOISDJF;JADSFA, but still fairly ISDOAF;DASFADFHIADSHFASD in its own right). Our teacher says that a 40% on the Calculess (aha get it. less?.... okay, it's better than that number #3 kid I mentioned earlier calling it fag-ulus. he's such a spazzzz...) is a good grade, and since there's 45 questions, I'd have to get eighteen of 'em right. And our Calculus teacher always curves ridiculously, so at least that helps.

The kid mentioned in the previous entry (the one who is transferring schools) had his last day today. I gave him a small present full of snacks (which is, quite frankly, all I can afford at this very moment. Well, I'll I'm willing to spend, that is). ;___; I'm miss him. He's a nice kid, really.

And so, onward toward studying and the brink of limitless despair with calculus! (Ahaha. Get it? Limitless? Calculus? HA!)

<lj:music>0:00AM - ACID (Its angry lyrics fit my mood... at least, they SOUND angry.)</lj:music>

So a close friend of mine is transferring schools because of the excessive bullying he suffers at our own school. What appalls me is that this sort of thing never happens at our school: bullying just never seems to exist outright.

But really pisses me off is that this kid (like most unfortunate targets) has done absolutely nothing to warrant such hate toward him. People who were friends with him before are peer-pressured into disliking him, and our whole band (previously like a family unit to him) has turned against him, and has played a major role in his decision to change schools. They put locks on his locker and call him humiliating names and generally act like dicks toward him. I’m disgusted at how cruel teenagers can be, sometimes.

What irks me the most is that I know I’m indirectly a part of it. Though I’ve always thought of him like a little brother, I’ve made jabs and jibes at him that are playful coming from me, but have caught on with other people and twisted around to become hurtful remarks. I also feel father guilty because I felt I could have been there for him more often, and been a support, at least.

The absolute worst thing about the whole situation is the fact that he was beaten up IN his first period a teacher present, and his aggressors were never punished. His first class is in the hallway next to mine, so even though it’s implausible that I might have been there to defend him (though I don’t think being protected by a girl would do much for his ego), I still feel guilty about it. The whole situation is quite ridiculous and I wish I could help more, but his last day before he switches schools is on Monday. There’s nothing I can do.

I’ve never been the victim of any bullying (despite the occasional scathing remarks that are promptly ignored), and I’m still willing to kick ass when anyone tries to mess with my friends. You know… as soon as I find out who they are.

I want to get him something as a going-present, so I think I’ll just buy him a bundle of his favorite candy and get him a card. Maybe something a bit more personal if I can find something suitable.

Still so angry. :(

<lj:music>Hitotoshite Jiku ga Bureteiru - Kenji Ohtsuki (very weird song :D)</lj:music>

Ugh... college applications argh.... they're all done but the feelings of dread remain.

School started back up today, and I think I'm doing well in most respects, except calculus. I think I'm failing that. ;__; Alas, the midterm exam will be terrible if I don't come in afterschool every day for this week. But after everyone else leaves, I leave too, because it's kind of awkward staying alone with the calculus teacher. Not the he's a bad guy (I mean, he watches Naruto... he CAN'T be too bad), but it's just a bit... odd.

Anyways, I just have to turn in my stuff in art. Which is four concentration pieces and, like, two other pieces of art. ARGHHH I should stop procrastinating.

I did a meme thing on personalities:

...we will GO where our dreams come true, you will always be my best friiiiend. (This song always makes me sad inside, for some reason.)

Ehhh trying out some new anime to pass the time. Also start my job tomorrow! :D

We went to a birthday party for my uncle yesterday. Not only was it in a community in the middle of Nowheresville, but the novelty of the whole thing wore off when we got stuck waiting until around 1:00 in the morning waiting for our parents to come out of the place so we could all get home. Food was all right, but that's about it.

No new art today. :( Haven't gotten to draw for a while.

    <lj:music>Pokemon Master Quest - ??? (Yeah, yeah, I'm a loser. :D)</lj:music>

...all I've got to do is BELIEVE!

Lately I've gotten stuck on Pokemon... again. I can't help it: that show makes me so nostalgic for the old days. Some days I just wish I could go off on a Pokemon journey and spend my time doing all that crazy stuff like training and capturing Pokemon with a group of friends, instead of going to school and getting some boring desk job. :( But, alas, tis not so...

I've also recently gotten addicted to Yu-Gi-Oh - The Abridged Series for some inane reason. A guy basically redubbed Yu-Gi-Oh, making it shorter, simpler, and sweeter. XD My favorite episode would probably have to be Episode 10, because of the incredibly awesome Shaft cameo and Yu-Gi-Oh DMX. I laughed so hard I cried. :P

ANYWAYS I got my AP exams results back. I got a five in both AP U.S. History and AP English Language and Composition! Yay! That means I can ditch more classes in college! (lawlz) But seriously, it's pretty cool.

I've decided to cosplay to Anime Festival Orlando as Kitsurubami from FLCL and Gidget from Eureka Seven. I've never cosplayed before, but it seems like it would make the con experience even more fun. (I swear I'm not a nerd! XD)

No new pictures today (except the one that I posted over at the Altona Braver community. <lj:music>LOST HEAVEN - L'arc~en~Ciel (FMA movie ending theme)</lj:music>

Got the job!!!! Wooooo, it's from 8:30 A.M. - 4:00 P.M. on weekdays for two weeks. It's awesome because it ends before band camp starts (and I'll also be able to save enough for Anime Festival Orlando. But more than that, I get to work in church with kids. Awwwww. :)

I posted this one up on my dAA scraps, I think. Just a quick sketch of the Kingdom Hearts gang in high school. Wouldn't it be cool if they all played instruments? (Sora isholding a trombone case, btw. @__@)

This one was a quick sketch I did to school around with monochrome colors (and some random FLCL-inspired gauntlet) that I posted in Simple Art in Gaming World. Monotones are fun!

So I start next Monday. :) I'm hoping that I do well, because you never can tell with these things. I'm helping one of the supervisors with a "Tech Arts" program, which is like digital cameras and slideshows (yay!) so I should be able to handle it. Should being the key word. <lj:music>Get Your Game On - Yu-Gi-Oh GX Theme (Okay, so I'm lame.)</lj:music>

AAAAhhhh it's nice to be out of school. I finally got a job interview (at church, though, so I suppose it's not exactly a real job, per say). Still, though, the hours are super awesome. I hope I get it. :(

Everyone in my family has been asking me about college. I honestly have no idea where I want to go or what I want to do. :( I wish I could wake up one day and suddenly have an idea for a career that will make me good money and be fun, too. Unfortunately, those are really hard to find, apparently.

Some Hikaru no Go fan art I've been working on. I recently started reading the manga again (I'd say this is the third or fourth time) and remembered just how much I love pretty much every single character in the series. Akira's going to be in the background. I totally forgot about Sai (as my sister pointed out). I think I'll do another picture of him later.

Hikaru is, like, the only person who can get away with something as outrageous as green and orange together. One of my characters from a concept that I can never bring myself to get off my but and work on. Which is too bad, really. Aw, well.

Birthday was July 1st. I got a cell phone (finally!) from my parents and Rogue Galaxy from my awesome-sauce sister. Money from my grandmother, and we were all supposed to go out to the Cheesecake Factory but we pushed it back until tomorrow, and then my dad said he'd have to come back from business on Friday instead of Wednesday, and there's a party that our family has to go to on Saturday, so I guess next week it is. :(

Here's to hoping I get this job! *crosses fingers*

<lj:music>Birdhouse in Your Soul - They Might Be Giants</lj:music>

First off, I just watched Little Miss Sunshine a couple of days ago. Lemme just say, it was awesome. Loved the characters, crazy as they were, and the plot, too (equally crazy). The best thing is that in the end, nothing is mystically better or solved: their grandfather isn't magically not dead, Dwayne isn't instantly colorblindness, and everyone is still bankrupt. And, yet, life goes on. Great movies like that are inspiring. I'd recommend to anyone. XD

Secondly, I finally got a spiral sketchbook, which I've been wanting for a while. I don't know, something abut the regularly bound ones that I have makes it hard to draw in them. :P So, yeah, went to Michaels and saw these really great ones for $9.99, then went to Wal*Mart and found an okay one for $4.12. I bought the okay one because I'm soo cheeeaaapppp. :(

The title is a line from "Birdhouse in Your Soul" (the first two lines, actually) by They Might Be Giants, which has to be the greatest nerd rock band in existence. Actually, I'm not really sure how many nerd rock bands there are, so... Also, all the titles since forever have actually been quotes from songs and television shows. XD

Today's my baby sister's birthday, but I'm getting her a present laterrrrrr. I'm going to have to take her out to buy something because I don't know what to get her. It's always great when your presents aren't a surprise!

Uh.. not much other than that. Almost positive I did really bad on this test in Precal, but I'm sure everybody did. How am I supposed to find out what t equals when 820 = 1000/1 + 990e^-0.7t ?! (That was an actual problem on the test. I'm surprised I remembered it, but our teacher sure didn't teach us how to do it.) I should have taken Precalculus during the summer. :P Probably did well on APUSH, though. Friday was amazing. Guidance came in when we were supposed to write an essay in AP Language and Composition, and then our band director mysteriously didn't show up (he went to All County with the rest of the kids who made it), and then I failed that test... wait that wasn't awesome.

Haven't drawn much in a while... well, nothing that's not for Draw II (which is perhaps one of the most lame art class that I've ever been in, which is pretty bad considering this is the first art class I've been in since elementary school). At least the teacher's nice. :D Oh, and I made the little sprite that is my user-icon-pic-thing. I was bored.

jsjioadsiojsdaiojsdaiosajiosjioasdjioasdjoiasdI don't feel like saying anything about flamingos.

If I had one wish..... well I don't know what I'd wish for.... *hums*

Anyways, I totally want THIS, but now I have to figure out where to get $50... still need that job. :(

Also have to stop procrastinating on APUSH homework. And I have to practice for Solo and Ensemble, even though I didn't take the bari sax home, which is stupid because that's the one I'm playing for the Ensemble that I'm doing. It's me and three other kids, me on bari sax, one on tenor, another on alto, and the last on soprano. And I almost got peer pressured into the sax CHOIR that's going on, too, but I used all my willpower to decline. I almost did it though; the kid who was asking is like IMPOSSIBLE to say "no" to. Well, almost. ;D

The Tales of Symphonia OVA is set to come out sometime this year.... And I hope they hurry it up, because I want my animated Genis! Luckily, this YouTube video helps tide me over until then. But I can't waiiiiiit. Also in Tales news, Tales of the World: Radiant Mythology either came out or is set to come out sometime this year, but it will probably never come to America because 1.) Nintendo owns the right to the American versions of both Tales of Symphonia and Tales of Phantasia (which is interesting, because wasn't TOP on the PS1, too?) and 2.) half of the characters in the game (which combines a lot of Tales games) are from the games that haven't even been released in America. LAME.

These two kids in our anime club are supposed to be going to Japan for school next year... but they don't even speak Japanese. Nor are they attempting to learn it at the moment. I mean, talk about living the dream: I'm sure everyone wants to visit Japan at least once, but living there for your senior year in high school? Without knowledge of the language or culture? Not to mention it being ridiculously expensive over there? I mean, they should at least go prepared, or something. Interestingly enough, though pretty much everyone agrees with me on that sentiment, nobody has really approached said kids on the subject and told them to wise up a little. OH WELL. :D

Went to a friend's birthday party yesterday. It was a bowling party, and quite fun. I got five or so strikes! (But then again, we played two games, so five strikes out of twenty-some tries isn't really good, at all. XD)I got her the Family Guy movie, since I couldn't afford the box set. :( WHY AM I SO CHEAP.

EDIT: Also, screwing around with stuff done in high contrast! But, it stretches the frame so

Some characters from a project I'm working on. Obvious perspective issues, but I'll fix that when I'm done lining the them, I guess. :P

DON'T TOUCH THE POSITIVE....
My Precalculus teacher is pretty hardcore.

She spent half of the class period today talking about the olden days (she's like, sixty or older) where women had to wear hats when they went out, and when men had to take hats off when they went in, and when they were talking to people. A kid commented on how that made no sense, and she says: "Does is make any sense that your hair covers your ears?" To which he replies: "Uh... I don't know?" XD.

Then she went on about how she owned a Halery Davidson dealership that she gave up when her father quit riding, and how she used to go water skiing and ride horses right where our school was built... well, before it was actually built, I guess. And then she lives on an island and has a million family members and prints out lists with the names and addresses of pedophiles for her grandkids on Halloween so they don't get raped, and teaches up how to not get gyped with compounding interest when buying a car!

Man, I hope I'm that hardcore when I'm sixty.

"The mind is like those lights inside of refridgerators... it only works when it's OPEN."

MAY THE FLAMINGOS BE WITH YOU.

I happened to get a hotel room with my dear friends Gaby (avid Fruits Basket enthusiast who will, henceforth, be known as Toasty), DeLayne (hater of everything, including anime) and my sister (who also got a table to sell some of her artwork).

However, this is going to take quite a bit of time to type out, so I'll update this particular eenmtry later, with the synopsis of each day and everything. <lj:music>Dogfight - Move (Thanks to NB for introducing me to this)</lj:music>

aosndfiosnfa I've finally discovered it! Yessss!

Discovered what, you ask?

...it's kinda dorky.

I found some good cosplayers of the Kingdom Hearts cast. XD I finally figured out that to get any GOOD cosplayers, you had to find Japanese cosplay websites. Because those Asians go totally crazy when it comes to Cosplay.

ARGHHH I'm not sure if I'm going to be able to go to AFO, which really stinks. It's mostly because my mother refuses on us missing a single day of church out of the 52 days this year. Parents are crazy (and rather hypocritical, at times).

I want to pull together an outfit for Gidget buy Friday, but that's either near impossible or it's going to be really really hard. I know that I could probably get a Ref board together by taping cardboard together, covering it with an extra layer of tape (for smoothness) and then painting it with random type of paint. Yeah. I can't imagine it costing that much (since I already have cardboard and tape) but the problem is finding the various parts of the outfit in time for the convention. Well, we'll see. Probably not going to happen, though. :(

So, anyways, here I am, registering for a Japanese website (and cursing my complete inability to read Japanese), trying to find some good cosplay. Why? ...I'm not entirely too sure. Boredom, maybe? Anywho, it's a good thing I've filled out hundreds of site registrations before, because it's pretty much the same in Japanese as it is in English.

Officer camp was pretty awesome. REAL band camp starts tomorrow, though. We'll see how it goes. Also have to remember to askGaby if she can blackmail and "adult" into staying with us at the convention. Oh, we're missing the band "Movie/Pajama Party Night" for ht econ, but I don't really care, because if all goes okay, we'll be having pillow fights inside the hotl at the convention, anyways. ARGH JAPANESE WEBSITES

MAY THE FLAMINGOS BE WITH YOU.

Heh heh. Fish equals tornado.

Anywho, BAND CAMP STARTS TOMORROW AUGHHHH. At least, I think it starts tomorrow. See, all officers are supposd to go to "summer band" tomorrow, but I'm not sure if they mean officers, as in woodwind captains and drum majors and section leaders, or officers as in uniform officers, operations officers, and the like. (I'm the latter, by the way.)

Well, whatever it is, let's see tomorrow! But, for now.... <s>BAND CAMP</s> SUMMER BAND CHECKLIST!:

2 Towels (Believe me.... you always need two.)
1 Frozen Water Bottle
1 Inhaler (yeah, I'm an asthmatic loser, I know it)
1 Pair of shorts (I'll be wearing pants because of that... yeah)
1 Hat (I'll be alternating so my hats match my outfit, though... yeah, okay, I'm a loser who likes to match.)
1 Lunch!
Moolah (Just because.)

And ISDNFOSDFNSDIO I almost forgot. MY INSTRUMENT.

Heh heh.
Heh heh. Birthday was fun. :D I asked for a cookie cake instead of the traditional yellow cake, but it's still so rich that I could only eat half a piece the first day. XD The people at #graphicart are awesome. :)

Hmmm... finally finished (mostly) the design fo me and my sister's website, Rare Truffle! Now I just need to work on the content. Got a lot of comics to work on.

Also have to work on my etry for the Chain Comic. Have to finish today so LORd can go. o___o Also, Kingdom Hearts Ultimania opened up their July contest, which goes as follows:

”Using only two colours, illustrate your favourite character from the Kingdom Hearts series in an interesting style.”

Nifty. I think I can do it. I'll post my progress in here, I guess. Some people are already finished! But I just KNOW somebody is going to try to submit Meisan's picture, even if it's 4 colors instead of 2. Pete (the KHU webmaster) says that the rules can be bended to include different shades of the two colors, so I don't know about it. Maybe she'll enter it HERSELF (we'd all get our asses kicked, then).

Yepppppppppp. Gotta finish that Chain Comic page, and then get started on my entry.
SOAN;IOGHDIHGASDILHGDIOHG; AFO is exactly a month from now (well, the end of AFO is) and I STILL don't have a job/money. I did that Yasumicon entry, but never turned it in because it required $5 on Paypal as an entry fee, and I was broke in the first place. :/ Well, anyways, here's the picture (though, looking back on it, I realize that it sux big time. Also, cat girls sux):

Went to the doctor's today and found out that the rash that I have is called "pityriasis rosea"... I still can't pronouce it. So I just went to WebMD to look it up and IOFHESDIOHFASD "RINGWORM OF THE SKIN"?! UGH. I'm just glad that it'll be gone in a few weeks. :( And luckily, WebMD didn't have any pictures. I get sick when I look at bacteria under a microscope, so this would be kinda... ew. Seriously, though, that's why I opted to take Physics instead of AP Biology... simply thinking about bacteria makes me all squeamish. I just hope it clears up before band camp. Or my sister's birthday party. I'd like to go swimming. :) The funniest thing was that the doctor said that sunlight seems to help the condition, which is laughable because I am pretty much attached to the computer for the majority of the day....

My sister's got a table at AFO, and she's working on her stuff for selling there. I designed the website that we're planning to get to work on (Dreamweaver is AMAZING) so all I'm waiting for is the splash/main image from her, then the beginning few comics, and then we're set to go.

Um... I started on a picture of Ky Kiske from Guilty Gear, but I think I'm getting bored with it. His right eye is a little weird, I know. I need to fix that. Actually, I might just finish this because electric swords = AWESOME.

Recently started using my old sketchbook again; I had never actually filled the pages. It's about 2 years and three months old, and it REALLY shows. If I can make myself walk across the room and actually scan some pictures, I would show the MAJOR differences between my old work and my new stuff... they still both need some serious work, though. I mean, I did BIG EYES back then. And I had the makings of a perfect male harem anime. iosdhfdio;hfiado;hfd;aohidfoaho;hh what was wrong with me back then.

I think it was hormones.

Yeah, that's it.

Crazy teenage girl hormones.

Man, I'm glad I'm through with that.

And MAN, I need a job...

And I made wind ensemble, the highest band in our school, which is awesome I guess, but I made it on the ALTO SAX. Which I haven't played regularly since, oh, NOVEMBER. And now I sound horrible. Oh man oh man, am I going to have to practice before band camp, if I don't want to make myself look like a complete idiot.

MAY THE FLAMINGOS BE WITH YOU.

Argghhh so many things to do. I hope I get the job at the librar, because the Anime Festival Orlando (AFO) site just opened, and it's going to be RAD. They've got the guys who play Ed, Al, and Armstrong... I mean, how SWEET can you get?!

In any case, the job at the library would seriously help, because my sister and I calculated the costs for the convention already...

$70 (Pre-ordering tickets so we can go all three days)
+$50 (two seats for a table at the artist alley so we can sell stuff!)
+$400 (two hundred dollars for the both of us to spend... so I no longer have to be a miser about money at anime conventions!)
_________
$520 total

So, yeah. My sister's hoping to get a job at Publix, and me at the library, but maybe we should switch.... I mean, they're more likely to accept her at the library because she's already 17. :(

I am inspired to draw by the people on the Graphical Arts board at GW... but I have to work on that AP Euro review question stuff that I put off until today. Guess who's emailing a half-assed assignment to their teacher again!

I also have to get the money for the all-day art club in-school field trip tomorrow, and for the band banquet tickets, and I have to do the vocabulary and an essay for English (The vocab is the real thing I'm dreading, and I have a band concert tomorrow, and I have to practice the bari sax TODAY, or else it would have been totally useless to bring it home on Friday. :/ That's a lot of stuff, now that I think about it. At least the essay's not due till... the week after next! Oh, joy!

And I also have to make prints for AFO, which is okay, because that only requires drawing, which is FUN!

MAY THE FLAMINGOS BE WITH YOU.

lol Last entry was the obligartory TEENAGE ANGST one. Gotta have at least ONE of those a year.

Anyways, I'm applying for ANOTHER job at the library, only it pays $10.68 - $14.16 hourly with a minimun 20 hours per week. That's $200 a week MINIMUM. Oh, the excitement! (Too bad I probably won't hear from them AGAIN. Lert's hope they don't hire another fresh little redheaded girl.)

Uh... JACON was awesome. I got me a brand new backpack, Fullmetal Alchemist style (with a giant zipper) and some other random stuff. But I ran out of money so fast. :( That's why I need a job... that and I want to save up for college or somsthing... and a PS2... and a new tablet... and other stuff, I guess.

Hmmm hmm hmmm. Guess that's it. Oh! I had the Advanced Placement European History exam yesterday. I probably bombed the hell out of the multiple chouce, but I also think I did pretty well on the DBQ and the short answer questions. Though I think that my conclusions were all a little weak (as usual).

I'm entering another contest for Yasumicon, but it has to be FOUR COLORS. A huge challenge, but I did it (hopefully). Too bad I don't know shizzle about printing. :/

I'm following new anime this year: Black Lagoon and The Melancholy of Haruhi Suzumiya, The former is pretty cool and the latter is AWESOME. I can't wait for the newest episodes to come out; it's been a while since I've actually followed and ACTIVE anime. :)

MAY THE FLAMINGOS BE WITH YOU.

So I was trying to slam the door of the car shut today (we went out for Chinese, and went to Borders and the library [which was closed]) and ripped off this big ol' piece of skin from my right ring finger. AUGH. Oh well, didn't hurt that much after the first couple minutes.

Working on MANGA in Manga Studio 3.0 EX! Me and mkkmypet (and hopefully l3lue, RPGVirtuoso, and I think maybe Captain Strife) are all entering, so it would be pretty awesome if it aleast one of us won. They also jacked up the price money this year, making it $1000 dollars per category, with these categories included:

The prizes are as follows:

1. The Best Comedy entry will receive a cash prize of $1,000.

2. The Best Drama entry will receive a cash prize of $1,000.

3. The Best Action entry will receive a cash prize of $1,000.

4. The Best Sci-Fi entry will receive a cash prize of $1,000.

5. The Best Mystery entry will receive a cash prize of $1,000.

6. The Best Fantasy entry will receive a cash prize of $1,000.

7. The Best Romance entry will receive a cash prize of $1,000.

8. The Best Horror entry will receive a cash prize of $1,000.

9. The Online People's Choice winner will receive a cash prize of $500.

YEAH. So far I have an idea and everything (luckily, with characters I already know and love, so it should be easy enough to incoporate their personalities into it and stuff). It's at http://www.tokyopop.com/news/mangatalent/intro.php if you ever went to enter. It'd be cool if I won; I'd be the youngest RSoM winner ever. But then again, most people have to enter numerous times before winning (except the people who won the first one, of course, which apparently had a 25 pages limit instead of 20!). So eah... I'll try to enter this year, especially seeing as how I'm got the whole summer to work (I might want to work on GO-GO-Pebble with my sister before she goes to college, though).

I'm saving for the con, but I'm hoping I can... you know, persaude my dad to give me an extra $100 for spending money. And then I will definitely try to donate the $20 to GW need to be a premium meber (it's actually $15, but it's too much of a hassle to go somewhere to break it). And maybe even buy Sandra a birthday present, since the girl who was taking her copped out at the last moment. (Why the hell would you choose the BEACH over JACON? You can go to the beach any fskindsifhsding time in Florida, it's not going anywhere. But JACON only comes ONCE A YEAR. C'mon, common sense!!)

Yeeeeeeeeeeeeeep. I also still need a job. And my Gatekeepers 21 is running really slowly! I'm also running out of room on mg external HDD... what will I have to delete next?!

MAY THE FLAMINGOS BE WITH YOU.

Still no progress on the last page I showed... boy hodwy, I sure am lazy.

Also........ I am thinking about screwing around with my livejournal layout. (this is what happens when you've got free time, a tablet, and no fractal brushes... yes, that's right: you do that weird sketchy-looking thing MANUALLY.)

Progress reports came out today, but don't tell my parents that. Actually, my mom was sitting right there (she came to pick us up at school) when some kid talked REALLY LOUDLY about progress reports to one of the attendance ladies, and she didn't even seem to notice. :D The only bad grade I have is in Mr. Kenney's, my evil English teacher, but that's because I haven't turned in these two fifty point assignments.
Heh heh. You are also not the one to follow what
someone has currently decided is "fashionable." To you it's most
important that you feel good in your clothes. You like it if people
notice an interesting detail you're wearing and you have some taste for
extravagance but you don't spend hours composing outfits. This
laid-back attitude leaves you plenty of time for other things in life
and still most people remember a few interesting outfits they saw on
you. written by mari-e on OkCupid Free Online Dating, home of the 32-Type Dating Test

It's pretty cool, I think. Also, it's pretty much right about me: I normally don't care what I wear, as long as it's comfortable, but normally I try to match colors, I guess. I do have to dress up for band concerts, though, but those things are mandatory. Lemme tell you, if it was optional, I would come in exactly what I had worn to school that day. :D

Anyways, I was working on a page for my comic, but I find the most inspiration on the weekens (not really, just the most time to actually DO things), so I guess it's going to have to wait. I've screentoned part of it, but it doesn't exactly look good in it's current (unfinished) state, so I'll just have to see, won't I?

Also, apparently, I'm on someone's hitlist, but I think this is a joke, because he's actually a pretty cool guy! Also, I have to do two fifty point essays by the end of this week! (At least one TODAY, I suppose.) Or, at least, that's the goal that I've tried to set for myself.

By the way, this song is AWESOME, so for anyone reading this: if you don't mind Japanese music, I suggest checking it out. :D

MAY THE FLAMINGOS BE WITH YOU.

<lj:music>Paper Mario: The Thousand Year Door - The Crystal Stars</lj:music>

Man.... I feel like everything I've recently drawn, be it by pencil or by tablet, has basically sucked. Maybe it's one of those art slumps that everyone goes through. Maybe not. But I do know that every time I try to work on this DAMNED COMIC I always end up needing something. Today I need whiteout and this, and also I need to relearn HTML or something to make a website, which I shouldn't even be worrying about now... And the truth is, I know that I don't actually NEED any of this stuff; I'm just trying to find a way to procrastinate or something. >:(

And plus, I know that once I DID get this stuff, I'd instantly need something else.

But what I do need is another external hard drive. I saw this really HOT one at Best Buy: it lights up and holds 350GB. :) Too bad I don't have any money. I'm considering getting a job at Albertsons, provided that I don't have to work the floral department or bag anything. But NOOOO, I can't get hired for anything. I'm even forgetting some of the jobs I've applied for, because I haven't been hired yet!

Also I want a PS2. But that's not going to happen any time soon. I wish money grew on trees! (Well, not ANY tree, really, just the one in my backyard, specifically, because if money grew on more than one tree, it wouldn't be worth anything, would it?!)

MAY THE FLAMINGOS BE WITH YOU.
